UHBW Library and Information Services: Wellbeing

Wellbeing Resources

Both our libraries in Bristol and Weston are committed to helping people help themselves. We provide accredited health information, health sign posting, we promote learning and literacy, social activity such as reading groups, and volunteering opportunities that keep people active and engaged.

Reading Well

What is Reading Well?

Reading Well helps you to understand and manage your health and wellbeing using helpful reading. The books are all endorsed by health experts, as well as people with living with the conditions covered and their relatives and carers (See the Reading Well lists)

Staff can find the books in either of the Bristol or Weston Healthcare Libraries, while patients and their carers can access them via their nearest public library service (Bristol public library finder)

The scheme is delivered by The Reading Agency and the Society of Chief Librarians, with funding from Arts Council England and Wellcome.
